NorthWestern Energy upgrading natural gas transmission pipeline near Helena
NorthWestern Energy is upgrading approximately 5.5 miles of natural gas transmission pipeline west of Birdseye Road, from the Silver City area near Lincoln Highway south to the Helena Junction area. The project will strengthen the natural gas infrastructure serving our customers.
The project replaces existing 40-year-old natural gas transmission pipeline within the current pipeline easement.

Location: West of Birdseye Road, from the Silver City area near Lincoln Highway to Helena Junction
Project Length: Approximately 5.5 miles
Construction Timeline: Began in July and anticipated to be complete by mid-October
Purpose: Replace aging natural gas transmission pipeline and strengthen the natural gas system serving customers

Once construction is complete and the upgraded pipeline is installed, NorthWestern Energy will restore the project area.
