TYPE: News
Great Falls, Mont. – Oct. 28, 2026 – A section of the River’s Edge Trail along the south shore of the Missouri River will be closed Friday, Oct. 30 for paving from the Caboose parking area east to Black Eagle Dam.
The paving will mitigate impacts to the trail from heavy equipment used during NorthWestern Energy’s Black Eagle Dam Spillway Project. The trail will be closed during the work for the safety of crews and the public.
NorthWestern Energy appreciates the public’s cooperation and asks trail users to avoid the area while the paving is underway.
